Handcrafting process
Clay Preparation
Before the artistic journey begins, we meticulously source the finest clay, selected for its purity and texture. Our artisans then expertly prepare the clay, ensuring it is free from impurities and air bubbles that could compromise the integrity of the final piece. Through a process of wedging, the clay is kneaded and folded to remove any trapped air, resulting in a smooth, consistent material ready to be shaped by our skilled hands.
Trimming
As the freshly thrown piece begins to take form, our artisans turn their attention to refining its shape and contours. Using specialized tools, they carefully trim away excess clay, sculpting and shaping the piece with meticulous attention to detail. Every curve and line is honed to perfection, ensuring that each piece exudes the elegance and refinement synonymous with our brand.
Firing
Now comes the transformative moment—the firing. Guided by precise temperature controls and keen observation, our artisans carefully load the pottery into the kiln, where it will undergo a metamorphosis. With temperatures reaching upwards, the clay undergoes a chemical transformation, emerging from the kiln as durable stoneware, imbued with a strength and resilience that will last a lifetime.
Final Firing
The journey nears its conclusion as the glazed pottery is returned to the kiln for its final firing. Throwing
With clay prepared and pottery wheel at the ready, our artisans embark on the exhilarating process of throwing. Drying
With shaping complete, our pottery enters a crucial stage of the process—drying. It is here that patience is paramount, as the pottery is left to air dry slowly and evenly. This gradual process allows moisture to evaporate from the clay without causing undue stress, minimizing the risk of cracking or warping. It is a testament to our commitment to quality that we spare no effort in ensuring each piece is given the time and care it deserves.
Glazing
With the foundation laid, our artisans turn their attention to adding the finishing touches that will elevate each piece to new heights of beauty.
